Project Manager - Social Infrastructure / Large-Scale Transformation Projects
Overview
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead large-scale, complex projects focused on transforming social infrastructure through emerging technologies. This role involves working on high-impact initiatives across industries such as transportation, logistics, and urban systems, driving both innovation and real-world implementation.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, from planning through execution and implementation
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, risk management, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with diverse internal and external stakeholders (e.g., enterprise clients, public sector organizations, technical teams)
- Drive alignment and consensus across cross-functional teams
- Manage project progress, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline targets are met (QCD management)
- Identify issues, structure problems, and support decision-making
- Plan and execute pilot programs (PoCs) and support transition to production/operational phases
- Prepare reports and communicate progress to leadership and stakeholders
Key Focus Areas
- Large-scale transformation and automation initiatives
- Data platforms, advanced technologies, and system integration
- Multi-stakeholder projects involving both public and private sector entities
- Transition from concept/PoC to full-scale implementation
Requirements
- Experience in project management for complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to structure and solve ambiguous, complex problems
- Proven ability to drive projects forward in dynamic environments
- Business-level Japanese communication skills and understanding of local business practices
Preferred Experience
- Experience in technology-driven projects (e.g., data platforms, AI, system integration)
- Exposure to infrastructure-related industries (e.g., transportation, logistics, utilities, etc.)
- Experience working with government or large enterprise stakeholders
- Consulting or advisory background
- Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation
