We are partnering with a leading global consumer electronics brand to hire a Retail Operations Manager to drive in-store excellence and commercial performance across key retail partners in Japan.
This is a confidential opportunity for a commercially driven retail professional with strong experience in in-store execution, retail operations, and partner management within a global matrix organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute retail experience strategies across key reseller partners to drive sell-through and brand presence
- Own end-to-end retail operations, including merchandising, display execution, store conditions, and in-store experience
- Drive performance across key KPIs such as POS productivity, product availability, display compliance, and training effectiveness
- Lead go-to-market execution for product launches, ensuring strong retail visibility and operational readiness
- Act as the key liaison between global, local teams, and external retail partners to ensure alignment and execution excellence
- Build and manage relationships with resellers, third-party agencies (3PL), and internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of in-store execution through insights, reporting, and performance tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as merchandising, supply chain, marketing, and training
- Manage retail operations budget, including merchandising, field support, and training investments
- Lead joint business planning with key retail partners to align on annual retail strategies and targets
- Conduct regular store visits to assess execution quality and identify improvement opportunities
- Gather market and shopper insights to inform broader commercial and retail strategies
Key Requirements
- Experience in retail operations, merchandising, or in-store execution within consumer goods or electronics
- Strong experience managing retail partners and driving in-store performance
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments (global + local + external partners)
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving sales, sell-through, and operational efficiency
- Experience in retail execution, including merchandising, display, product launches, and training programs
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience managing agencies or third-party vendors (e.g., field teams, 3PL)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills
- Fluent English required; Japanese strongly preferred
