Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and software systems
• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
• Develop new product features and enhance existing functionality
• Build APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Optimize application performance, security, and reliability

System Design & Architecture

• Participate in technical design discussions
• Contribute to architecture decisions and system improvements
• Design scalable solutions that support business growth
• Evaluate and implement appropriate technologies and tools

Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers
• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Conduct code reviews and support knowledge sharing within the team
• Communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

• Identify areas for technical improvement and process optimization
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Contribute to engineering best practices and development standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience
• Experience with frontend, backend, or full-stack development
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases
• Experience using Git and modern development workflows
• Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 level or above
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Native-level Japanese
• Business-level English
• Experience developing SaaS products
• Experience building cloud-native applications
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, or Data-related technologies
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
